Our orphanage goals
Our short-term goal is to have 30 children in the Tamil Nadu orphanage. Of course, numbers are not our only, or our primary, goal. We want to provide a safe, healthy, enriching environment for the children until they are equipped to support themselves. The RGMI orphanage places great emphasis on the physical and emotional health of the children. We provide safe drinking water, nutritious meals, a hygienic environment, and prompt medical care when the need arises. With four full-time live-in adult staff members, plus Packiyanathan and his family nearby, the children are constantly under loving care in these matters.
Our staff give individual attention to the childrens' emotional needs and any problems that they have. They work well together and understand our goals for the children. The children have quickly formed deep bonds with one another, so the orphanage has a "family" feeling rather than an "institution" feeling.
RGMI also recognizes the importance of the childrens' spiritual lives, so regular Bible classes are held. The children will understand the importance of knowing God and gaining spiritual wisdom for living life. My visits with the children have been encouraging; I have seen the spiritual interest they have and how quickly they are grasping Bible truths.
For the long-term, we have big dreams. Once we have reached our goal of 30 children in the Tamil Nadu orphanage, we will start orphanages in other areas in India. There are thousands of children in India who are not receiving the love and care they need. One of our goals in RGMI is to help as many children as possible to grow into healthy, stable, mature, spiritual adults. Would you like to help us with our goals?
